Compassion, Venetian School 17th century
Bronze plaque mounted in Pace in the shape of a shrine; missing handle, missing in the center above the architrave, mm 146 x 97.30; gr 237.8.
The seated Virgin holds the body of the dead Christ, abandoned on her knees; on the right, at the feet of Christ, the Magdalene. Molded base on which rest two columns with lion's feet and the upper part with two human heads. Smooth architrave with smooth molded frame.
