Maternity cup with plate, Canton China, last quarter of the 18th century

cup 11 x 10.5 x 6.5 cm; plate 22.5 x 4.5 cm
in polychrome porcelain. Cylindrical cup with animal-head handles, short neck and flared foot. Domed lid with animal-shaped handle. Decoration on a white background with scenes from the Far Eastern repertoire within purple reserves. On the lid flowers within red reserves with a white background separated by a golden trellis. Bowl-shaped plate with a short brim and a full-field base with a ring support on a lowered background. Decoration of the plate en suite with the cup.
Condition: good, wear to the gilding as per use over time.
