Pair of candlesticks, Venetian School, 17th-18th century

Patinated bronze; 42x14.5x13.5 cm

Splendid pair of bronze candlesticks decorated with Renaissance motifs. Tripod bases bearing angel heads on feral feet and acanthus leaf motifs.
The trunk develops with great elegance and lightness, alternating podded parts with areas densely decorated with geometric motifs, masks and festoons.
The final plate ends with an oval motif and a tip into which the candle holder bobege was inserted.

Very rare to find due to the almost goldsmith-like workmanship and the small, perhaps domestic, size.
