The Deposition
Rectangular bronze plaque with dark brown patina; 96.4 x 70.7 mm; 212.4 g.
Jesus Christ is carried into the sarcophagus by Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea; behind, Mary with clasped hands; on the right, Mary Magdalene kneeling. On the ground, a basin and a vase; in the background, Calvary and Jerusalem. On the left of the scene, a rocky group with branches and a crescent moon in the center.
Nice old casting, a little tired. Rare. Bibl. Wixom 1975, n. 198.
