Pharmacy jar, ceramic jar, late 19th early 20th century
23 x 11.5 x 9.5 cm
body slightly tapered in the center with rounded shoulder and base. Everted upper rim with disc-shaped base cut on a stick. Lathe-shaped. Polychrome decoration on a white background with St. Francis receiving the stigmata within a blue-bordered reserve. Depiction taken from the Renaissance tradition of Deruta ceramics. Pharmaceutical inscription within a band at the base.
