Woodcut, 390 x 365 mm. Plate no. 44 of a set of 139 plates that make up a monumental frieze, depicting an allegorical triumphal procession in honour of Maximilian I (1459-1519), Holy Roman Emperor.
18th century edition. Very fine impression on laid paper with watermark (Wolf in crowned shield with the letters "IAV" and "WOLFEG"; Germany, circa 1760 - 1788). Trimmed example with the margins recomposed.
