The auction will take place solely online from the day of the publication of the online catalogue at www.bertolamifineart.com until Friday 4 April 2025 according to the timed auction procedure.

1. How to participate
The timed auction will take place exclusively online after registration on our website www.bertolamifineart.com.

2. Duration and conclusion of the competition
The auction will begin the moment the online catalogue is published and will end on Friday 4 April 2025 at a set time, which is different for each lot and monitored by a displayed on each lot page.

The closing times are scheduled in order to allow users to place several bids during the same auction. On the final day of the auction, lots will start to close at two-minute intervals from each other (i.e. lot 1 will close at 17.00, lot 2 at 17.02, and so on).

If a higher bid than the current one is submitted close to the end of the time limit, the time limit will be extended by two minutes, thus allowing other interested parties to respond. Please note that the extension of one lot’s closing time does not affect other lots’ closing times.

The bidding time will stop at 24.00 CEST on each day and resume at 8.00 CEST the following day.
During the night break, however, it will always be possible to make new bids.

3. Bid Tracking

From the publication of the catalogue to the end of the auction, the bidding monitoring systems will be active 24/7 and, if another user exceeds your maximum bids entered, the system will immediately alert you with an e-mail notification.

4. Entering maximum bids
Each lot page in the catalogue is provided with a button allowing the user to enter a maximum bid.

By entering a maximum bid, the user allows automatic bidding when his/her bid is exceeded by another user's bid. The system will raise the bid until the threshold indicated by the user is reached.  The e-mail alert system will update the user both on the automatic bids and on whether another user has exceeded their maximum bid.

The maximum bid is accepted only if it is higher than the reserve price and is elected the leading bid only if it is the highest of the bids received. If two bids of the same amount are submitted for the same lot, the first entered wins over the other.

The maximum bid indicates the highest amount that the user is willing to pay to win the lot, therefore, in the absence of bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded at the starting price even in the presence of a higher maximum bid; while in the presence of bids lower than the indicated maximum bid, the lot will be awarded at the price reached so far in the auction by applying the automatic increments provided for by the system (see chart below).

Example:
a. starting price € 1,000 - maximum bid indicated € 1,500 - in the absence of other bids the lot is awarded at € 1,000
b. starting price € 1,000 - maximum bid indicated € 1,500 - in the presence of a bid made by another user, the electronic bidder raises the lot to € 1,100 (as per the attached table of automatic increments) and, in the absence of further bids, is awarded the lot at € 1,100

Bids can only be withdrawn by submitting a request to the auction house and any cancellation generates automatic update notifications to interested users. Le offerte possono essere ritirate solo inoltrando richiesta alla casa d’aste e l’eventuale cancellazione genera automatiche notifiche di aggiornamento agli utenti interessati.
