entirely mahogany veneered with gilt bronze appliqués; two-door front with under-top drawer, removable marble top concealing a secret compartment.

Maison Krieger was a significant and influential furniture manufacturer in 19th-century Paris. Established in 1826 by Antoine Krieger, it remained a family-run enterprise until the early 20th century. The company gained recognition for the exceptional quality of its furnishings, earning prestigious awards at the Exposition des Produits de l'Industrie in Paris in 1849 and the Exposition Universelle in London in 1851.
